Why are some of my kids’ teeth coming in discolored?

This is a phenomenon known as “chalky teeth,” which refer to teeth that haven’t developed properly which leads to discoloration and the tooth being less resistant to decay.

These teeth can appear whiter than normal, or cream, yellow, or brown. In most cases, the discoloration is only in small spots or bigger patches, but the entire tooth may be affected.

Chalky teeth have been associated with toothache and rapid decay, often leading to more complex dental treatment. For more information, please visit chalkyteeth.org.
