Your First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" six months after the eruption of the first tooth or by 1 year of age. During the first visit we will complete the following as appropriate:

Review the child’s medical and dental history
Evaluate oral hygiene
Evaluate growth and development of the oral cavity
Examine the child’s mouth, palate, gums, tongue and teeth
Obtain appropriate dental radiographs
Explain oral hygiene techniques
Recommend a preventative techniques based on the child’s risk of developing cavities
Answer questions and address specific concerns
Work together with parent, patient and dentist to make a comprehensive treatment plan
