General Anesthesia
Full mouth dental rehabilitation will be provided under general anesthesia in the hospital operating room. Dr. Jody has privileges at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (DMC), St. Joseph’s Canton Surgery Center and Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn. This service is used for children with extensive needs, have acute situational anxiety in the dental clinic environment as well as others including those with special health care needs.
A child seen in the hospital setting will have all of their treatment completed in one visit. However, there may be need for space maintenance if there are teeth extracted during the visit. This is a great opportunity for children with extensive needs to get the treatment they need without the anxiety of multiple appointments in the dental office. It will get them cavity free where we can then work towards preventing future caries and a positive dental experience.

Dr. Jody Atzmon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She earned her dental degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and received an additional two years of specialized postgraduate training in pediatric dentistry at the Alaska Native Medical Center.
