Welcome to Willow Pediatric Dentistry
At Willow Pediatric Dentistry of Tecumseh, we strive to provide excellent oral care in a relaxing, comfortable, and safe environment for kids. Our goal is to ensure a positive dental experience that best fits each child’s needs.
It is our vision to provide the best pediatric dental care and establish long-lasting relationships with the patients, families, and the communities of Lenawee County.
Comprehensive Dental Care
Comprehensive care at the clinic includes prevention and restorative services. Examinations, dental cleanings, x-rays, fluoride application, sealants, composite fillings, stainless steel crowns, white crowns, pulpal treatments, extractions, mouth guards and space maintenance are all treatments that we can provide.
Laser Dentistry
The dental laser combines both light and heat to pinpoint diseased tissue or enamel without affecting surrounding healthy tissue, which improves the healing process. It can eliminate problems quickly and often without the need for dental anesthetic or the drill. The laser also seals and sterilizes the treated area for more effective healing and a quicker recovery.
Sedation Services
Oral Conscious Sedation may be offered for children who are pre-cooperative, special needs or extremely anxious. Nitrous Oxide, a very mild sedation, is ideal for anxious patients and those who need some extra help during treatment.
General Anesthesia/Operating Room
Full mouth dental rehabilitation will be provided under general anesthesia in the hospital operating room. Dr. Jody has privileges at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (DMC), St. Joseph’s Canton Surgery Center and Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn. This service is used for children who have extensive needs, acute situational anxiety in the dental clinic environment as well as others including those with special health care needs.
Myofunctional Therapy
Myofunctional therapy is a type of therapy designed to address and correct improper tongue and mouth muscle function. It focuses on exercises that retrain the muscles involved in breathing, swallowing, speaking, and chewing. The goal is to help the muscles of the mouth and face function properly, which can improve things like speech, breathing, and even alignment of teeth over time. It is often used as part of an integrated treatment plan with orthodontics or speech therapy.
